The Venus Project and Co-creating a Brilliant Future

Are you an idealistic, yet grounded dreamer like me who understands the importance of imagination, and you refuse to give in to those people who choose to bash and ignore such futuristic visions?
Well, then The Venus Project is an endeavor that deserves greater recognition, and you just might find some semblance of relief to know that there are others who are actively doing their best to bring forth big ideas.
People behind the idea
The Venus Project is like no other. It was developed by visionaries Jacque Fresco and Roxanne Meadows. Their description of the project involves a holistic integration of all the best ideas humanity has brought forth:
“The Venus Project proposes directing our technology and resources toward the maximum benefit of people and planet, and seeking out new ways of thinking and living that emphasize and celebrate the vast potential of the human spirit. We have the tools at hand to design and build a future that is worthy of the human potential.”
Their vision entails a detailed blueprint of cities of the future where everybody utilizes their maximum potential through communal health and education to live in harmony with the planet. It honors a resource-based economy and envisions a system without money. They also recognize the importance of technology being used responsibly and avoiding the creating and propagating of those technologies that do not serve higher ideals of sustainability and ethics.
What the project involves
Their project is not all theoretical either…they are actually doing things to actualize this vision!
The first phase of their project has already been achieved as a learning center based out of Venus, Florida. The main focus of this phase is to continue educating people about such a possibility, and they warmly welcome visitors to get involved.
Their second phase involved the creation of two documentaries entitled The Choice is Ours and Paradise or Oblivion, which can both be watched entirely on their site.
Lastly, their third phase is action…and this is where your efforts are needed most! They propose to create an experimental city that is designed with a whole-systems approach to sustainability with the goal of reproducing the model all over the world.
Such a magnificent project truly deserves to be explored, so do not let anybody tell you that such a feat is not possible. The more interest and support this project garners, the more this vision can blossom into a beacon of hope and prosperity for all the human race.
How to get involved
You can get involved, and it all starts with making a serious effort to read and understand the project’s vision and spreading the ideas to anybody who is willing to listen.
Such a reality is absolutely possible, and I commend The Venus Project for all the work they have done thus far.
