Part 9 - Free Will
Hero’s Journey
Every single one of us is on what has been called the “Hero’s Journey.” The reality of this journey has been reflected to us by the Universe in the form of books, films, plays, and everything in between. It is such a strong element of who we are that it is embedded in the very fabric of our consciousness. We all have the capability of being the hero no matter what specific path our lives take us on.
The first step for anybody on the path of Truth is to pay attention to all the signs around one’s self and to use Pattern Recognition to find meaning within them to spur one to discover deeper meanings within one’s self and the whole Universe. The call to adventure comes in the form of circumstances that takes one out of their personal comfort zones, be it mental, emotional, physical, or spiritual. One does not find growth sticking to the same ritualistic patterns within their life, confining themselves to existing with a ten-second attention-span living inside of a fifty-foot Universe.
Somebody who embarks on the path of Truth is spurred out of a desire to push beyond all boundaries, leaving them to experience the unknown. Only Fear will keep somebody back, whether it is a fear of failing or a fear of external dangers. One will find that when they embark on the path they will meet others who they will cross paths with who will assist them on their journey. This individual or group of individuals will likely be seeking something similar, and both parties will find that they can share knowledge, understanding, and encouragement for one another to continue personal success. This is what is often called "Universal Synchronicity."
There are always challenges that one faces when on the journey, and perhaps the biggest challenge of them all is to overcome the urge to quit and go back to living in one’s familiar comfort zone. Upon navigating through these challenges, one will find that everything that they thought was true—everything that was taught to them by authority figures—was wrong. This, coupled with spiritual revelations, causes one to reevaluate themselves and their behavior, creating often a painful, but necessary loss of one’s sense of self. But the person who is able to properly integrate these new experiences has the potential to climb out of the metaphorical Underworld and begin life anew.
This leads to a powerful transformation of one’s inner self, leading one to take the next step of changing their behavior to be in alignment with higher consciousness. This process may involve making a radical shift in lifestyle, dropping old habits, and seeking to make amends for all the suffering one has caused in their previous existence before embarking on the path of Truth.
Those who honor the gift of Free Will understand that there are many challenges we all must face in life, but we all have the power to overcome any hurdles and boundaries placed before us. We may find that we cannot relate to our old friends and family members anymore upon going through such a transformation, but there is always comfort that there are others out in the world we can connect with to facilitate the exploration of new avenues in life.
Authenticity and Masks
Most people in the world carry around a mask that they put on to fit in with mainstream society, and some go even further by carrying several different masks. These metaphorical masks appear innocent enough, but they only hide our true selves from one another. This leads to miscommunication and misunderstanding that ultimately keep us from expressing our true selves and the unique talents and gifts that make up our personality.
These masks can manifest due to all sorts of external pressures from peers, work, family, and societal expectations, but they can also be used for malevolent means. Either way, they take away our humanity and divide us into groups. The masks can take the form of labels people identify themselves with, be it political affiliation, religion, sports team loyalties, and even profession. They create social hierarchies that eventually lead to division, competition, and materialism.
Humanity started off as a unified species, but these masks and labels have only separated us from one another. The true self is the inner child within us all that has not been corrupted by Mother Culture. Deep within us all lies a vast creative power, but also the ability to feel empathy and sympathy for all living things. To actualize this full divine power requires one to remove all masks and embrace one’s unique potential. Only Fear holds one back…what people may think, what they may feel, what opportunities may be lost. But the self-actualized human who is true to themselves and Natural Law will confidently present themselves to the world without being controlled by the opinions of others.
Conscience
To exercise conscience means to make the Free Will choice to choose the right thing in any situation when Natural Law and morality is properly known and understood. Every single one of us has the potential to choose good behaviors or bad behaviors, and the Universe will reflect good or bad consequences in turn. There is no escaping consequences because they are fundamental to Natural Law. There is a cause…and there is an effect.
The depiction of an angel and devil sitting on top of one’s shoulders is a beautiful representation of the conflicting thoughts we face in almost any situation. Because the Universe has polarities, we are given the choice to feed whichever thoughts we wish. The more energy we feed to a thought, the stronger it gets within our mind, and the more likely we will act upon it. Even the most spiritually moral person gets flashes of negative thoughts within their mind telling them to do something immoral. The difference between this person and the average person who has not learned to master their mind is that they choose to not feed the negative thought or act upon it. One does not need to feel guilty for thinking of something harmful, as long as one does not continue to feed the thought energy, and most certainly not act upon it.
Many people also fall into a cycle of negative thoughts that are self-destructive, leading to self-sabotaging their personal lives. While they are not harming anybody else, they are robbing themselves of the ability to use their talents and gifts for the betterment of the whole world. At any time such an individual can choose to shift their focus on positive thoughts, and though it may prove to be difficult, can lead to greater self-empowerment and self-esteem.
Thoughts come and go, but it is ultimately our emotions that turn our thoughts into actions. We can respond to our thoughts with a virtuous disposition, or we can fuel them with hate and anger. These are choices every single one of us must make every day.
Uncertainty vs. Control
One of the biggest challenges people face in personal transformation is the Fear of uncertainty. When exercising imagination, it takes action to manifest new possibilities in the world. It is true that there is always a chance that one will run into challenges, but such challenges need to be faced nonetheless. One will likely face ridicule and criticism, but all the leaders of the world have pushed through anyway because they knew in their hearts that it was the right thing to do in the face of immoral conditions within society.
The biggest fear of living in a society without governmental rule is that the world would be left to chaos. But regardless or not if a government exists, there are always bound to be individuals who choose to act immorally. This can be mitigated when the majority of people take up a personal responsibility to protect and defend their entire communities with an understanding of Natural Law.
There are always circumstances in life that are beyond our control. An obvious example of this is weather systems. Although we can do the best we can to prepare for certain environmental hazards such as hurricanes, their unpredictability is a reality within our world. Besides, we never know if a meteor may reign down on the world, so the best that we can do is to live in the moment and to do the best we can to give future generations the knowledge, tools, and opportunities to thrive. There is always a chance for chaos in the world, but we must not allow our Freedom and Happiness to be affected by such possibilities.
Freedom and Morality are directly proportional. As Morality increases, Freedom increases. True Freedom can never exist with “Moral Relativism.” The price of true Freedom comes with the possibility of chaos, which makes it all the more important for people to understand Natural Law and to teach it to others.
Service to Truth
Lies and deception run amok in the world, so it is up to each and every one of us to propagate the Truth as if is holy and sacred. A society that has a foundation built upon Truth is a society that will ultimately be free. This Freedom can only be achieved through the force of Love…a love for all living beings and a love for Truth.
This is especially important because every one of us is connected with one another and the planet in which we share. The immoral actions of people on one side of the planet have a negative effect imposed upon the rest of the world. When one person hurts, we all hurt. When one forest is cut down, then all the planet suffers. Idleness and ignorance are perhaps even more dangerous than immoral actions themselves.
Not only should we endeavor to be of service to others, but also to Truth. Many people have a visceral reaction towards people who are trying to protect the planet and defend human rights, but it is simply the right thing to do when one knows and understands Natural Law and morality. When our very existence hinges on the efforts of those who do care about creating a better world, then the risk of meeting challenges is well worth the efforts.
Truth can be referred to as Feminine in nature, because it is something that must be protected and defended as a source of inspiration for us to evolve towards higher virtues. The reader will surely notice that it is women in relationships who are especially vocal in the despising of lying and the adoration of traits such as loyalty and honesty. In this regard, women have the transformative power of influence to be the leaders who will usher in a better world.
We are all in this together, and the Universe honors those who uphold Natural Law through a reflection of energy that will aid our natural evolution.
The Great Work
“Energy flows where attention goes.”
Because time and attention are the two spiritual currencies, and because we all have the creative power to manifest physical reality through our consciousness, the world that is created is through a battle of invested energy.
In order to tip the Scales of Truth and Justice back to balance, a certain amount of people need to be doing the Great Work. The Great Work is a concept that has been around for a long time, held dear by all initiates of sacred knowledge. It comes with the mature understanding that knowledge is fruitless unless it is put into action. Wisdom is accrued when somebody uses knowledge of Natural Law to make a positive change in the world. Knowledge without action is taking for granted one’s creative potential.
The Great Work is not always a glorious endeavor, because the chances are that it will involve criticism from people whose mentality is rooted in a sick, destructive system. But there should be no hesitation to speak the Truth because anything less would be self-defeat.
The reader can begin right now to inspire and encourage others to make positive changes within the world. There is unlimited potential within one’s self, as the human imagination is vast and beautiful. We all have our personal struggles, but any action big or small within the world is certainly a step in the right direction. The Universe does not honor excuses, and neither should we to ourselves.
